The Press Trust of India has selected ICP's AD-4585 Fixed Data Rate Receiver and head-end equipment as part of a new satellite network being implemented in India.
International Communications Products (ICP), Inc. of West Melbourne, Florida will provide complete head-end and receiver equipment to be used in a new satellite distribution data network providing news and photo services for India's largest news agency. The Press Trust of India (PTI) will utilize existing teleport facilities in New Delhi for its uplink with the network reaching all of India and neighboring countries. ICP is working in conjunction with a local systems integration company for installation and service. The PTI network is expected to grow to over 2000 downlink locations, as satellite broadcasting becomes the preferred method for data distribution in India and surrounding countries.
