Associated Press Awards Contract to ICP for 4000 Satellite Data/Audio Receivers

The Associated Press will implement a new worldwide Ku-band satellite network using ICP's state-of-the-art Data/Audio receivers

International Communications Products (ICP), Inc. of Melbourne, Florida has been awarded a two year contract with the Associated Press (AP) for the delivery of over 4000 satellite data and digital audio receivers. ICP will provide its state-of-the-art, DCR-972 DigiCeiver® Digital Satellite Broadcast Receiver, as part of a new Ku-Band network being implemented by AP.

The DCR-972 DigiCeiver® will replace the C-Band M-Sat data broadcast system which was implemented by AP in the early 1980's. It will also replace and expand the current AP Radio Network's multi-channel audio system. The new network will provide improved services for both AP's domestic and international customers. Flexibility and expandability of ICP's DCR-972 DigiCeiver® design along with a competitive price were key factors in the award decision.
